Our commitment
Gibson Mayo Financial Services is committed to making gibsonmayofinancials.com accessible to all users, including people with disabilities. We believe a financial advisor’s website should be as usable as the advice it offers.
Standard we follow
We aim to meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA across the site. This is the international standard for digital accessibility.
What this means in practice
Our site is designed and built so that:
- Text contrast meets WCAG AA minimums (4.5:1 for body text, 3:1 for large text and UI elements)
- All images have descriptive alt text so screen readers can describe them
- Forms have visible labels above each field, never relying only on placeholder text
- All interactive elements are keyboard accessible: you can use the site fully without a mouse
- Focus states are always visible: you can see where the keyboard cursor is at all times
- Headings follow a logical hierarchy: H1, H2, H3 in order, no level skipping
- Touch targets are at least 44 by 44 pixels on mobile, large enough for thumb navigation
- Animations respect your motion preferences: if your device is set to reduce motion, animations are disabled
- Colour is never the only signal: form errors use icons and text alongside colour
Tools and testing
We test the site using:
- WAVE (wave.webaim.org) for automated accessibility audits
- Lighthouse (built into Chrome DevTools) for accessibility scoring
- Manual keyboard testing to verify all interactions work without a mouse
- Manual screen reader testing with VoiceOver (macOS / iOS) and NVDA (Windows)
Known limitations
We work to meet WCAG 2.1 AA across the site. Where we currently fall short:
- Third-party embeds and external links (Selar, Calendly) are subject to their own accessibility practices, which we do not control
We commit to fixing identified issues within a reasonable timeframe.

Continuous improvement
Accessibility is a process, not a destination. We review the site annually for accessibility improvements and incorporate accessibility into every new feature or content update from the start.
